To install RubyMine on Ubuntu, follow the steps below:
There are two ways to install RubyMine on Ubuntu: one is via its ToolBox App and the other is using Snap. To install via it’s ToolBox App, use the Download link below:
Save the file to your desktop. then right-click it and extract the zipped folder. next browse to the extracted folder and run the executable.
Then select the app you want to install via its ToolBox Apps
Install RubyMine via Snap
If you’re not going to be using the ToolBox app, then Snap is your only option. Snaps are containerised software packages that are simple to create and install. It’s a new way to manage packages on Linux systems and is supported by the top Linux distributions.
It’s probably the easiest way to install and manage packages on Linux systems, including Ubuntu.
To install RubyMine task management app via Snap, run the commands below
sudo apt install snapd sudo snap install rubymine --classic
When you’re done, RubyMine should be installed and ready to use… To launch it, go to the Activities Overview and search RubyMine and launch it.
