To get started revealing the Wi-Fi password in Windows, follow the steps below:
How to get Windows 11 Wi-Fi password
This is only going to work if you’re already connected to the Wi-Fi. You will not be able to get password for a Wi-Fi network that you’re not already connected to.
Windows 11 has a centralized location for majority of its settings. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from the System Settings pane.
To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + i shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings as shown in the image below:
Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.
Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click Network & internet, and select Advanced network settings on the right pane of your screen shown in the image below.
In the Advanced network settings page, scroll down and select ‘More network adapter options’ under Related settings.
This will open the Network Connections control panel. In this windows, right-click on your Wi-fi adapter and select ‘Status’. You can also just double-click on the Wi-fi adapter to open its’ properties window.
On the Wi-Fi settings pane, open the Wireless Network Properties, then select the Security tab, and check the box to Show characters of the Network security key.
Your Wi-Fi network password is displayed in the Network security key box.
In Wi-Fi Status, select Wireless Properties.
How to view Wi-Fi password on the command line
You can also view your Wi-Fi password from the command prompt in Windows 11. It takes a single command with options to see the password.
Open the command prompt, the run the commands below to view the password of the Wi-Fi you’re connected to in Windows 11.
