This article describes steps to enable or disable “Save photos and videos from devices to OneDrive” in the OneDrive app in Windows 11.
The OneDrive app lets you sync files and folders on your computer with Microsoft cloud, allowing you to access them anywhere on your mobile devices and other computers using the service.
If you connect a phone, camera, or other devices to a PC with Microsoft OneDrive, you might be asked if you want to add your photos and videos from that device to OneDrive.
You can also have your photos and videos automatically uploaded to your OneDrive account without always asking if you want to. This should work with cameras, phones, CompactFlash, USB flash drives, and other removable devices you connect to your Windows PC.
Here’s how to do that with the OneDrive app in Windows 11.
Turn on or off save photos and videos from devices to OneDrive
As described above, you can have your photos and videos automatically uploaded to your OneDrive account without always asking if you want to.
Here’s how to do that.
First, make sure you have set up OneDrive in Windows 11.
With OneDrive set up, open OneDrive from the Start menu or browse to the OneDrive installed location at (“C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\OneDrive.exe“).
You can also quickly access the OneDrive icon from the Taskbar overflow.
When the app opens, click on the Help & Settings (gear) icon, and then on Settings.
On the Settings pane, under Sync and backup, toggle the button to the On position to “Save photos and videos from devices” in the OneDrive app.
To disable it, simply toggle the button back to the Off position.
That should do it!
