Windows also allows users to change or select a different power mode that suit their needs and gives them options to enable a device settings to bring out the best battery life, the best performance, or a balance between the two.
You can select separate power modes for when you are running on AC and on battery (DC) power. Your device will automatically choose the power mode when it switches from AC to battery or DC.

How to select Windows 11 power mode
As mentioned above, users can choose which power mode works best in their environment. Below is how to do that.
Windows 11 has a centralized location for majority of its settings app. From system configurations to creating new users and updating Windows, all can be done from the System Settings pane.
To get to System Settings, you can use the Windows key + i shortcut or click on Start ==> Settings as shown in the image below:
Alternatively, you can use the search box on the taskbar and search for Settings. Then select to open it.
Windows Settings pane should look similar to the image below. In Windows Settings, click System, and select Power & battery on the right pane of your screen shown in the image below.

On the Power & battery settings pane, select the Power mode tile, and choose a power mode for the device.
Your options are:
- Best power efficiency
- Balanced (default)
- Best performance

After making selecting the power mode for your device, you can simply exit the Settings app.
